about Brian Poulton

Brian was born in Johannesburg on the 16th of April 1949 in the then Queen Vic Hospital. Brian grew up in Johannesburg suburbs of Parkhurst and Linden and went to both schools Roosevelt Primary and Roosevelt High.

Brian’s career started off with Kodak as a camera repair technician repairing cine and still film cameras and projectors. This led to the opening of his own photographic business in Cape Town called CAMERACARE. Brian then became the first person worldwide to market print laminating plastic services to the man in the street in the early 80’s and sold the photographic business to pursue the importing and laminating services under the name of PLASTIPRINT LAMINATING. During this period Brian could say to anybody in Southern Africa that they have touched his product since PLASTIPRINT laminated most of the national food restaurant chain’s menus for several years – as well as supplied plastic materials to printers and copy shops.

During his flying career Brian had amassed nearly 2,100 flying hours in his log book – most of which were done in his own Aircraft (at the time) which included 1956 Piper Tri-pacer, 1980 Cessna 172RG, 2007 Jabiru 430 and part ownerships in a Cessna 206 and a 210 T ( with Robinson stol.)

Brian lived life to the full and never let an opportunity pass him by. He thus has had a “good innings” and is happily retired in Randpark Ridge and still with Kathy seven years later!

READ THE BOOK – very emotional, humorous, frank and raunchy!
